Let's Get Exponential: Helping the Homeless

QUANTUM REACTION is a method that I created to help the homeless (or those on the edge of homelessness). This method is unique in that it grows exponentially, and could very well end the homeless crisis in the next twenty years.

HOW IT WORKS: 4 stable people help 1 person in need. They aid in finding income (work, disability, etc.); getting a prepaid phone; finding transitional, semi-, or permanent housing; helping with transportation to appointments, job interviews, etc. (ride, bus pass, bicycle, etc.); help with haircut, clothing, resume/job applications, etc.; getting/replacing identification; aid in getting GED and/or free or low-cost training; and anything other basic need that comes up.

The key to this method is that one person is not bearing the full burden financially, or otherwise, but is sharing it across four sets of shoulders, at the very least.

Once that person is stable, they join the 4, and those 5 stable people help 1 new person. The help of the newest stable person does not need to be grand, but their help is critical, if for no other reason, than to show the next person that they, too, can move forward. This method continues until there are 8 stable people, then it breaks into two teams of 4, and begins again.

I thought up this method more than twenty years ago, and have struggled to get it off the ground, but I believe it's an effective tool to help those who need it.

This method can be used by anyone, anywhere. You don't need federal, state, or local funding to begin. Just some spare time, spare money, and a willingness to help.

To find a person in need, who is ready, willing and able to accept help, you can check with local churches, advocacy groups, libraries, and more.

There is likely someone in your circle who knows of a person who is just waiting for this method, and is ready to move forward in life. You can make this happen, starting today.

I'd love to hear of your momentum, so please comment as often as you can.
